Hand-carved from African ebony, this letter opener is stylish and unique. Made by artisans in Kenya using traditional carving techniques, the African ebony is often two-tone, comprised of the older black wood from the inside tree branch and the light wood of the younger part of the branch. Batik bone handle designed by placing wax on the white bone and dipping the bone a dark brown/black dye, resulting in traditional patterns native to the Kenyan region.
